How to carry out a leak test.

The pool leaked quickly down to the level of the lights and, once it was drained completely, the two cracks could be clearly seen (as outlined above).

The pool was checked carefully beforehand for plumbing leaks but none were noticed.

There were lots of other reasons for the pool to leak as well (as normally is the case).

The skimmer box was completely adrift as it was located to far forward,
could never be pointed properly and it was badly distorted.

The pointing was poor around the return jets and lights.

The Preparatory Work

The tiles were removed from around the two cracks
and all the old tile adhesive was removed.

The edges were carefully cut back so that the new tiles could be located at the same level as the old. All surfaces were wire-brushed in order to remove all loose particles.

All loose material was removed from around the skimmer box and it was forced back into shape.
