The GRP Patching - Applying the Patches

How to carry out a leak test.

A coat of polyester or epoxy resin was applied to the prepared area.
The Glass-Fibre Fabric applied then
another coat of resin applied and more Glass-Fibre Fabric.
The multi-layer patch was formed.

 Finally, the last layer of resin wass applied and sharp sand dashed into the wet film
- this is to provide a key for the tile adhesive.

Repairing the Skimmer Box.

The skimmer box was found to be wrongly installed.
It was set forward in line with the tile cladding
- making it impossible to hold firmly with the cement rendering.

It was first forced back into shape by wedging in a piece of wood,
then securely fixed in position with a GRP patch.

Finishing the Job.

Finally the tiles were replaced, the interior walls and floor de-scaled, cleaned, re-grouted and re-pointed and the pool re-filled.
