Swimming in Knowledge: is a division of CB-Clean – importers and distributors of fine cleaning and maintenance products to the Costa Blanca. We also distribute pool chemical products, both retail and to the trade design, construct, repair and renovate pools.
We could say that we have “seen it all before” but “anomalies” tend to occur on a regular basis (we don’t call them problems!) and we have accumulated a vast knowledge base from first-hand experience.

It’s Easy Really: “Looking after a pool is simply a case of regular sweeping, testing, adding the chemicals etc. and when something goes wrong …..”
That statement is absolutely true and the sweeping, testing, adding etc. is the easy part.
Correctly and professionally maintaining a pool is actually a question of doing the “easy bits” and, at the same time, foreseeing any anomalies. 
The Technicians are trained in all aspects of pool cleaning and maintenance. Each is a mini travelling laboratory and has the backing of our extensive technical and research facilities.
The result of the testing and chemical additions is computerized in a comparative database so that performance is optimized, issues are resolved and chemical usage minimized.

Plans Start at €599 for a Full Year: Each includes an annual equipment and water health check, regular water alkalinity balancing, shocking as necessary and computerized reports showing visits and water condition.
All Plans include chlorine systems and there is a non-chlorine option.
 
The Chlorine System: “Chlorine smells, irritates the eyes and skin and damages fabrics” Actually nothing could be further from the truth! Nevertheless, it is true that spent chlorine, combined with pool waste, is bad news, is smelly, is an irritant and not an effective sanitizer.
Without going into the chemistry, the fact is that the effective use of chlorine depends 100% on the skill and dedication of the technician. pools obviously don’t compare with Vichy Water but they taste far better than “Costa Blanca Tap” and they are certainly just as potable.
If you are brave enough (and drink tap water) we challenge you to detect the difference.
The Technicians will give you a demo – as long as you supply the “tinto” to wash it down.

The Bromine System: Allergic to chlorine? Just don’t like the idea of swimming in it? Then perhaps you should opt for the Bromine System.
Again without going into the chemistry, Bromine is added to the water on a twice yearly basis. Bromine, in its basic form, is harmless, undetectable and generally stays out of the way.
Periodically, depending on the time of the year, we add a product which combines with the Bromine to becomes a strong, efficient sanitizer and algaecide.
Please Note: The Bromine System is recommended for all "Problem" pools i.e. pools with heavy bather load and/or abuse and/or underpowered plant.
In particular, rental villas and community pools where there is continual "overcrowding" and little control over pool usage.

Definition of Terms and Technical Details

Normal Visits shall comprise netting and vacuum sweeping as necessary, free & combined chlorine and pH test and adjustment, shocking (with Sodium Hypochlorite or Potassium Monopersulfate) whenever combined chlorine is detected and an alkalinity balance as necessary.
Plus addition of chemicals as follows -

Chlorine System: Sodium Trichlorocyanurate (in tablet form or granules) in order to achieve and maintain the free chlorine level at 1 – 3 ppm (according to season).

Bromine System: The "Bromine Bank" established an maintained by twice-yearly additions of sodium bromide. Re-activation of the Bromine with Sodium Trichlorocyanurate or Potassium Monopersulfate on each visit.

Extra Visits: These are carried out after a storm, whenever an anomaly is suspected or has occurred e.g. unusual chlorine consumption, turbidity, black mould appearing etc. or on request from the property owner.

Water Level Topping Up: Only 30 minutes is possible on each visit. Owners are expected to maintain the correct water level or fit a topping up device.

Algaecide: Copper-based Product, Chelated (Stabilized – to avoid green staining) added twice-yearly.

Purification Plant Report – includes filter sand inspection, installation leak tests, motor health, electrical trip device integrity, written report and estimate for repairs (if required).

Water Condition Report – includes calcium hardness, cyuanuric acid level, TDS (Totally Dissolved Solids), written report and correction recommendations.

Annual Visits Report – indicates the exact number and dates for visits, test readings, chemicals added and any suspected anomalies.

Additional Costs:

·        IVA (16%) must be added to any plan.
·        Bromine System 55.00 per year (all plans).
·        Repairs and replacements (including labour).
·        Credit Card Charge 3.50 for any single payment.
·        50,000 – 65,000 litre pool 40.00 per year (all plans).
·        Over 65,000 litres and public or community are subject to a special quotation.
·        Additional visits, over and above the Normal and Extra visits charged at €12.50

Payment Terms:

Quarterly in advance (January, April, July and September).
The Credit Card Charge is waived for yearly payment in advance.
Any plan must start before 31st April; otherwise 6 months advance payment is required.
Less than one full year subject to special quotation.
